What can I expect during the online test?

Upon receipt of your online application, you will receive a link from us by email inviting you to complete the online recruitment test. You can do this from the comfort of your own home. Our tip: Please take the test on your laptop or tablet - not on your smartphone.

The test covers questions from the areas of logical thinking, dealing with numbers and language as well as text comprehension. The test takes approximately fifty minutes to complete.

How does the Assessment Centre work?

Once you have impressed us with your application, we will invite you to the Assessment Centre. This will allow us to get to know each other better and find out if we are a good match.

At our Assessment Centre, you will go through various exercises to demonstrate the exact skills you need for our apprenticeship program. Exercises include a one-on-one interview and a role-play.

Experienced managers from the bank will observe you during the exercises and decide together in the end how good of a match you are for us. If you convince us, we will give you a firm commitment for your apprenticeship position on the same day as the Assessment Centre. We very much look forward to welcoming you to our company.

How long is my weekly working time?

Your working time is 39 hours per week. This equals 7 hours and 48 minutes per day. You also have the possibility to work flexible hours, which means you can sometimes go home earlier and then make up the time over the following days or weeks.

What does the specialisation phase involve?

The second part of your apprenticeship is called the specialisation phase. You can help structure this part of your apprenticeship yourself. Here you can choose the area in which you would like to acquire more in-depth skills. Your personal skills and interests are decisive for this choice. It is also possible to explore completely new areas. The specialisation phase usually lasts six to eight months.

Is direct entry possible after completing the apprenticeship program?

If your performance is good, we will of course offer you a permanent position with us. Many of our apprentices start working with us directly after completing their apprenticeship.

Depending on your skills and interests, you can choose from the areas that you have already worked in during your practical phases, such as client service. Exciting and interesting tasks await you in our other specialist departments as well.

It is very important for us that we train you well, because we definitely want to take you on afterwards.

How can I continue my education after completing my apprenticeship?

During the course of your training, development and career events will give you a unique look at the many opportunities we have to offer you after your apprenticeship program. As part of the UniCredit Group, there are no (national) limits on the myriad of career opportunities. You can develop your skills throughout the UniCredit Group and take advantage of our network to launch an international career.

Of course, this is not an obligation. As a company operating throughout Germany, we also have great development opportunities in your home region. You are your own navigator.
To help you find the right path among all the possibilities, we support you with fantastic development and mentoring programs - even after you complete your apprenticeship.

Your apprenticeship goals

  • You are a client acquisition, consulting and service pro: You are proficient in topics such as communication tools and conversation management. Moreover, you are well versed in modern information and communication technologies.

  • Joshua takes you along his apprenticeship

Joshua is training as a bank clerk with us in Munich. He specialises in corporate clients.

  • Every day of my apprenticeship was different: Certain activities, such as sitting in on appointments with clients, conducting my own appointments with clients or taking on a variety of tasks for colleagues, became part of my daily routine. Yet how these appointments go, what concerns the client has and how we can help them, is different every day.

  • That is what makes it so interesting to me. Even in the first year of my apprenticeship, I was able to spend time in many of the bank’s different departments. In addition to learning about the work that Client Advisors and Wealth Management advisors do, I was also introduced to the work of Real Estate Financing specialists and the Corporate Clients department. Each department gave me a friendly welcome and people were extremely helpful.

  • My colleagues were happy to share their knowledge with me. They also made it possible for me to take on tasks and participate independently in client meetings at an early stage. Not only did I feel at ease, but I also had a chance to really develop. After completing my basic training, I decided to specialise in the Corporate Client area in my second year.

  • After only a few days, I was already a trusted member of the team and was allowed to handle my cases independently - with help whenever I needed it, of course. I especially enjoy applying my knowledge in direct contact with clients so that I can really help them. It feels great when my clients are pleased with the advice I give them. My tip for future apprentices is to be confident right from the start. After all, you learn and develop with each experience!

  • Ajla talks about her 'First Steps' week

Ajla is currently training to become a bank clerk with us in Munich and really enjoyed her 'First Steps' introductory week.

  • For me, the ‘First Steps’ introductory week was a very nice, helpful and supportive experience. All of the new apprentices and students on the dual study program from all over Germany came together here in Sonthofen in the Allgäu region - That beautiful area where others go on holiday was where we started our apprenticeship. ‘First Steps’ is five days full of different team games, interesting and informative evening programs and lots of fun.

  • The week helped me get off to a good start in the apprenticeship program and build up my own network. Different board members came to share their experiences and encourage us to broaden our horizons and always pursue our goals. We also had the opportunity to ask them questions. Apart from getting to know each other and team building, I found the week very helpful in terms of personal development - It really was the perfect start!

  • Aphiwat reports on his apprenticeship

Aphiwat is training to be an IT Specialist for Application Development in Munich.

  • As an apprentice, I felt really welcome from day one. The bank not only offers an exciting apprenticeship program, but also many additional training courses that help us advance in the field and turn us into real IT pros. There is always someone on hand to help us with questions and challenges.

  • I am especially grateful for our Apprentice Consultant, who was always ready to listen to me and supported us specifically in implementing our training goals. My goal is to stay with the company as an application developer after completing my apprenticeship so that I can contribute to its success.

  • Arnoush reports on being hired

After his apprenticeship, Arnoush joined us as a Client Service Manager for our corporate clients in Düsseldorf.

  • One thing I remember as being particularly positive was how my Apprentice Consultant, Heike, helped me fulfil my wish of spending my specialisation phase in the Corporate Department. Regular feedback meetings helped me to really develop during this phase, making it possible for me to start as a Client Service Manager in the Industry Coverage Teams. My tip is: If you are interested in a job, just give it a try.

  • That is exactly what happened with me. I was able to convince thanks to my performance during my apprenticeship and my willingness to learn. But by no means is your entry-level position the ‘end of the line’. HypoVereinsbank attaches great importance to the development of its employees. Every day is an opportunity for you to learn and develop. Outside my time at the bank, I am also continuing my education with a post-graduate degree in Business Law. I am glad that the bank makes this possible for me.

  • Even after my apprenticeship, I am not left to my own devices in my personal development: In regular feedback meetings with my manager, we discuss a direction for me to take, depending on my performance, skills and interests. At any rate, I can tell you that I definitely made the right decision in joining HypoVereinsbank straight after completing my apprenticeship. I would highly recommend our apprenticeship program to anyone.
